Ken Hausman is a director with the firm and has extensive trial and appellate experience in all aspects of complex litigation, arbitration and regulatory proceedings.

Mr. Hausman represents public and private companies, investment banks, broker-dealers, venture capital firms, hedge funds, private equity firms, a mortgage insurance company, sports franchises, wineries, hotel companies and real estate development firms and their directors and officers in federal and state court litigation, including class and derivative actions, involving securities, corporate governance, regulatory, real estate and other complex litigation matters. Mr. Hausman also represents high net worth individuals in a broad range of public and private matters.

Representative clients include The Charles Schwab Corporation, the directors of Chiron Corporation, Thomas Weisel Partners, Technology Crossover Ventures, The Oakland Raiders, Qatalyst Partners, The Hess Collection Winery, Digital River, Inc., The Grupe Company and Recology (formerly Norcal Waste Systems).

Mr. Hausman has been on the faculty of the Trial Advocacy Programs at Stanford University Law School and the University of San Francisco Law School and has taught courses for the Practising Law Institute (PLI), Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) and the Rutter Group on trial skills and real estate matters. He is an arbitration panel member for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the American Arbitration Association and is vice-chairman of the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Committee on Mediation and Arbitration of Disputes.

Immediately following law school, Mr. Hausman received a Reginald Heber Smith Community Law Fellowship and practiced for two years with the San Francisco Neighborhood Legal Assistance Foundation. Mr. Hausman also taught Property Law and Professional Responsibility as a full time Professor of Law at Golden Gate University School of Law.

Mr. Hausman was named one of the top 100 attorneys in California by the Daily Journal.  He was recognized as a Top 100 Super Lawyer in 2005 and as a Northern California Super Lawyer from 2004 through 2010. He is also an AV-rated attorney, a peer-awarded honor given by Martindale-Hubbell.
